Crochet Abbreviations (US Terms)
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
Crochet Bandana Written Pattern 🌸
This bandana starts as a small triangle and increases with every row to create a beautiful mesh design.
Foundation Row
Make a slip knot.
Chain 7.
Work 1 dc into the very first chain you made.
Row 2
Chain 7 and turn your work.
Make 1 sc into the loop from the previous row.
Chain 5.
Count 3 chains from the previous row’s double crochet and make 1 dc into that chain.
Row 3
Chain 7 and turn.
Make 1 sc into the first loop.
Chain 5.
Make 1 sc into the next loop.
Chain 5.
Count 3 chains from the previous row’s double crochet and make 1 dc into that chain.
Continue Increasing
Continue repeating the same pattern.
Each new row will add one extra loop and slowly create the triangle shape.
For every row:
♡ Start with chain 7
♡ Make single crochets into each loop
♡ Chain 5 between each loop
♡ End with chain 5 and 1 double crochet into the 3rd chain of the previous row
Continue until your bandana reaches your preferred size.
For my bandana, I made 26 rows.

Optional Crochet Lace Border 🌸
To create a pretty border, work along the two slanted sides of the triangle.
Make 5 dc into the space between two rows.
In the next space, make 1 sl st.
Repeat this pattern along both sides of your bandana.
Crochet Bandana Ties 🎀
After finishing the border:
Chain 40 to create the first tie.
You can increase or decrease the number of chains depending on your preferred length.
Tiny Flower Detail for Tie 🌼
Chain 2.
In the 3rd chain from the hook, make:
(2 dc, ch 2, sl st)
Repeat this two more times into the same stitch.
This creates a tiny 3-petal flower.
Chain 1 and cut your yarn.
Finishing the Top Edge
Attach your yarn to the other side of the bandana.
Work 3 sc into each mesh space across the top edge.
This creates a clean finish and helps your bandana keep its shape.
When you reach the other side:
Chain 40 and repeat the tiny flower detail.
Crochet Flower Appliques (Optional) 🌸
For extra decoration, you can add small crochet flowers.
Make a magic ring.
Chain 2.
For each petal:
2 dc
Chain 2
Slip stitch into the magic ring
Repeat until you have 5 petals.
Pull your magic ring closed.
Chain 1 and cut your yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.
Sew the flowers wherever you like on your bandana.
Optional: Add a little eyeshadow or blush to the petals for a soft shaded effect.
